Matt Murphy, a.k.a. Homerun Ball Wrangler, May Keep His Prize

Matt Murphy, the lucky bastard who captured Bond’s 756th homerun ball after battling vultures has decided to keep his catch–at least for now. Murphy’s logic is puzzling when you consider he’s in possession of a golden egg.

It’s the greatest American sports accomplishment in history. Part of me might want to sell it. But I really am leaning towards keeping it. It’s too valuable and sentimental.

We would have already stripped the tainted ball of all it’s luster for some strippers, a Newcastle keg, and a block party of monumental proportions. How is that for sentimental?
