Carlos Pena Wins Comeback Player Of The Year And His Identity Back
15 October 2007, 4:40 PM. By Alex Ferreyra

Carlos Pena has been named 2007’s AL Comeback Player of The Year. If you’re left scratching your head as to who the hell he is, don’t feel bad because he doesn’t. That lack of recognition didn’t stop him from banging out 46 homers and 121 RBIs in the hinterlands known as Tampa Bay.
“I knew in my heart it was going to be a great season … but I went beyond what I envisioned,” Pena said.
“It’s like a gift,” he said of the award. “You never sit there and expect things to come to you. … I’m very grateful, very happy. It’s the most fun I’ve had playing baseball since I can remember.”
Forget the trophy, Major League Baseball should just try to find a way for him to get the hell out of Tampa Bay.
