Detroit Tiger Magglio Ordonez beat Ichiro Suzuki for the American League Batting Crown yesterday with a .363 average. Maggs becomes the second Venezuelan to win the batting crown, after “The Big Cat” Andres Galarraga did it in 1993, but the first to do it with such fabulous hair.

“Second Venezuelan player to win a batting title in the big leagues, it’s huge,” Ordonez said. “I’m really proud.”

You know who else is pround of Maggs? Hugo Chavez. We’re expecting him to dedicate a song commemorating your wonderful year soon.
