After beating out scores of ladies over six major tournaments this year, Mexican golf sensation Lorena Ochoa finally caught our eye. Before her, we didn’t even realize Mexicans knew about golf. Shit, were we wrong. Not only did Lorenita manage to embrace the complexity of the game, she even managed to make the sport of fat men look sexy to us. Not because she’s a girl, but because we define sexiness as the obliteration of competitors. (Yeah, we like winners.) Asked about how she plans on maintaing her success, Ochoa divulged:

“I always try to be one step ahead and for that I need to keep working really hard. I think you have to have very clear goals, what you want to do and where are the places you can improve. There are so many places that I have room to improve — my short game, a better feel with my putting, working on lies. I want to go home and work hard in the offseason, even harder than last year and be ready for next year.”

Golf has an offseason? See, you do learn something new everyday. Thanks for enlightening us about a sport we always equated with rich vatos getting drunk on a Sunday morning.
