The people have spoken, and for once their voice isn’t a cacophony of nonsense. They have voted to brand Barry Bonds 756 home run ball with an asterisk, and then hand it over to the Baseball Hall of Fame (hopefully after it’s cooled down). Luckily for all of us, Cooperstown has wink-winked away any awkwardness of receiving it.

[Baseball] Hall of Fame president Dale Petroskey, also interviewed on [The Today Show], said accepting the ball did not mean the Hall endorses the viewpoint that Barry Bonds used drugs.
“We’re happy to get it,” he said. “We’re a nonprofit history museum, so this ball wouldn’t be coming to Cooperstown without Marc Ecko buying it from the fan who caught it.”

Yes, and these $50 bills I’m giving you with a fine white powdery substance on them is in no way endorsing the idea I may have a drug problem.
