Sir Alex Ferguson (head coach of Manchester United) proclaimed yesterday that England’s Premiership clubs should sign more English players. He also specified that if the idea were ever enacted by FIFA, the biggest whiner would likely be Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger (pictured right). Ding, ding, ding, and round one is on! Wenger rebutted by calling Ferguson a hypocrite and wondered, “If I was a foreign player at Manchester United I would not be very happy if he said these things..”
We said the same damn thing! He continued:

“If you look at the investments of Manchester United this year you’ll see they have spent a lot of money on foreign players. I have always believed that sport should be about quality so hiding behind artificial rules would not help anyone. It doesn’t make bad students better if you put down the level of the class. It makes them worse.

He throws a right, a left, a few jabs, and he goes for the upper-cut by comparing a club full of all English players to a classroom full of delinquents! Damn, this is better than a Friday night fight on Showtime.

Wenger: Keep it shut, Alex
