To paraphrase the Randy Newman song, David Beckham Loves L.A. (he loves it!). At least that’s the word from his English National Team skipper Steve McLaren, who made the observation when he was trying to get Becks back to England for one last game.
“I read a couple of things about him over there not enjoying the life and not enjoying the experience,” said McClaren… “I couldn’t find that further from the truth. He loves it [in America]… he’s settled there, his kids are in great schools and he’] got… a quieter lifestyle … over there now to what he had before [in Europe].”
We knew Becks was hounded in Europe, but that quote puts it all in perspective. If hanging out with Tom Cruise and teaching Snoop Dogg’s kids soccer is considered a “quieter lifestyle,” European soccer star must be only one notch below hostage negotiator in the stressful jobs category.
