Even though the Red Sox are still preferred, pitcher Curt Schilling has decided which teams he’d like to play for next year. He wants to play for a very select list of teams that include the Indians, Angels, Phillies, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Tigers, Cardinals, New York Mets, Braves, Dodgers, Padres and Brewers. He also mentioned that he’d like to go back in time and play with the 1930 Philadelphia A’s if they can meet his $14 million salary demand. Oh, and this, too:

“There are a million little things that go into [finding a team] from stadiums to school districts to travel to spring training to etc. etc. etc.,” Schilling wrote, “but the list represents the teams after Boston that have some of the off the field things that are big to us, plus the potential to go into October next year.”

We think he’s throwing everyone off. Right before spring training, he’s going to announce he’s been traded to the Yankees, then turn to Josh Beckett and hit him over the head with a steel chair. Big Macho Man Randy Savage fan, that Schilling.
