In England, It’s Okay To Be A Little Bit Xenophobic

What is it with coaches nowadays making more news than the players? English Premier League team Manchester United’s coach Sir Alex Ferguson is publicly supporting a notion that more of the league’s players should be English, and he took a shot at league rival Arsenal because most of their team is foreign born.
“It would be a problem for a club like Arsenal. That’s why they’ll protest loudest. Obviously, you want to protect your own, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But, for the good of the game in England, it would be good to see more home-based players at top clubs.”
Sure, Sir Alex, why don’t you poll your team and ask what they think. We’re sure players like Argentine Carlos Tevez and Frenchman Luis Saha feel the same way you do. And while you’re at it, why don’t you ask your bosses how they’d feel going into Champions League play without the footballer of the year (and Portugal-native) Cristiano Ronaldo. Odds are, they’d prefer him playing for ManU than Portuguese club Benfica.
