In sports, most awards are typically meaningless. They’re usually handed out to glamour-whores, inevitably propelling recipients to endorsement deals and amplified fame. It’s kind of like how corporations created Valentine’s Day. Bastards. But sometimes we like the awards: specifically the European Ballon d’Or, which is given to the best European soccer player of the year. This year, Kaká is predicted to receive the honor, beating out Manchester United midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo and FC Barcelona midfielder Lionel Messi. But Roma FC striker Totti declared that if he were on the panel of judges, he’d hand the “Golden Balls” to Messi. Someone’s got a crush.

“He’s just 20, but he seems like a 30-year-old on the pitch. He has been crucial for Argentina, in Europe and in Spain. I would have given it to him because of his talent coupled with his age.”

What about his shortness couple with his speed? Or his cheating skills coupled with his denials? [Ed. Note: Oh yeah latinogamer. We went there.] A top ten was leaked today and at then very bottom of that list was you know who. “By Jorge, we thinks we got it!” Don’t say we neva’ gave youse’ nothin’.
