Real Madrid utility striker Javier Saviola is wondering why he hasn’t gotten any playing time in the last few…um…months. He was acquired on a transfer fee from FC Barcelona in the off season, but hasn’t seen much action. Saviola’s perplexed at the notion that he isn’t needed, but extends approval of his current club’s progress.

“A player always thinks about playing and helping his team. Right now others are playing and they are doing really well. I have to wait for my opportunity so I can demonstrate my skills.”

Real Madrid’s surplus of forwards is equivalent to a nuclear submarine’s arsenal off a Middle Eastern coast. Yet, even though he’s whining, Saviola wouldn’t dare talk about his ex-club.

“Every team goes through difficult times. [Real Madrid] have had a great start, but a lot can happen when playing for big clubs. Right now I am concentrating on my team. I’m no longer at Barça, and I don’t know what’s happening over there…I am thinking about Real Madrid and no one else.”

How noble. Yet, when winter transfers come and he finds himself in the grim world of Valencia soccer, it’ll sound more like, “Right now I am concentrating on my team. I’m not longer at Real Madrid and I don’t know what’s happening over there…” Yeah, you get it.
