The New York Red Bulls star Jozy Altidore just turned 18 years old, but he’s getting wise beyond his years. He only recently played in his first international game, the U.S. victory over South Africa, but his name is already being bandied about playing for Read Madrid. After seeing how members of the U.S. team who had Euro experience played, we think he might want to brush up on his Castellano to speed things along on the transfer front.
The guys who play in Europe have a different take on a lot of things. I’m not saying that their approach is right and ours in the U.S. is wrong, but it’s just a different way of doing stuff. After all, it’s really all the same game.
Is it really, Jozy?
It’s really about the way they communicated, they are passionate and in a way, it surprised me. They take it very seriously in each camp and in each practice. It was really nice and a bit educational to see their approach to training and to see how they performed under pressure in South Africa.
Yeah, it’s almost as if playing with the best in the world would actually hone your skills better than playing with British retreads in the MLS. Actually, Jozy, you’d better brush up on your Italian and knowledge of English foods, too.
