People In America Are Totally Scared Of Soccer

You think soccer will ever be called “football” in America? If you even gave that question an ounce of thought then you’re a shmo. Of course that will NEVER happen. Americans can’t even get American fast food joints to stop using trans-fats in their food. Mm, trans-fats. We were perusing through some of our fav sites this morning and we came across a post about the UCLA/Oregon college football game this weekend. We read it was a dreary bore of a game (UCLA won 16-0. But who cares, right?), but what caught our attention was this blurb from a commenter on Rumors And Rants about his experience with his kids:
I was there. It was painful. Couldn’t even buy a beer to drown my sorrows. My buddy and I brought our two teenage sons. It was the first football game they’d ever been to. After seeing that display of boredom, they now think that soccer is more interesting. That’s right, soccer!
What, was the line too long or something? We’ve sat through many boring games chugging away. Isn’t that standard? As far as your kids, they’d probably appreciate the game a little more if they could partake in that beer drinking as well.
