Someone Thinks The MLS Final Halftime Show And Bad 90’s Pop Are A Good Match

It’s apparent MLS representatives are being advised by frat boys who graduated in 1995. The halftime show at this year’s MLS Final between the New England Revolution and the Houston Dynamo will feature mid-90’s one hit wonder chart-toppers “Jimmy Eat World.” Geoff Hayes, the league official in charge of putting on the halftime show [should be fired], believes bigger and better things are yet to be seen in the league and it all starts with this crappy band.
“We’re not super-giant and it’s not U2,” Hayes said in a telephone interview while he was on a tour of Robert F. Kennedy Stadium, the site of the final. “I have to work a lot harder for those guys than a lot of the other leagues.”
Those guys being the mediocre bandwagon hopping wanna-be rockstars you booked to play the show, or some other guys? The choice isn’t a shocker considering the MLS’s designated team anthems list from this year. Even a defunct Guns ‘N’ Roses with a cracked out Axle Rose would have made a better choice.
