There’s been a buzz since Joe Torre was named head coach of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The news came yesterday and within moments the web was riddled with rants of dismay and approval. Have the Dodgers decided because of sheer panic, or is this the right move? We don’t care what people say. We think Grady Little is a cyst that was finally removed. Comments from the Los Angeles Times:
- Some vato named “Jack” is disturbed by the move and thinks the Dodgers are moving too fast:
The Dodgers mistreated Grady Little. He was not the problem. Colleti’s moves were terrible and Little was handed a team with many deficiencies. Torre was great in NY but had the team with the highest payroll in baseball. I don’t think he will succeed in nurturing and developing teh [sic] young kids. The Dodgers need to adhere to a strategy and have patience rather than make panic moves all of the time.
Because bringing in a four-time world champion is totally out of despair and confusion. Keep the panic going “Doyers” and go get A-Rod too.
- “Cesar A.” has the confidence of a young boy dreaming of becoming an astronaut:
Torre is a great addition to the Dodgers. On the 50th anniversary of the Dodgers move from Brooklyn to LA, we get a coach from Brooklyn. The stars are lined up now. On to the world series!
Um, does he know Torre’s winning percentage isn’t a batting average or slugging percentage? It’s only one peice of the puzzle, buddy.
- Roy thinks people are jerks and jerks should not write jerky things:
Little is as good as any manager. Torre is also a good manager. The Dodgers have a bad blend of players and, as Little learned, their [sic] is no Dodger way of playing baseball, as was for many years. The players were not brought up in a system that taught fundamentals. It will be some years before the “Dodgers way” can resurface. Hopefully, Torre will level many of the bazaar LA Times sportswriters. To win, they need to keep these jerks out of the clubhouse. Some of these writers are vindictive jerks and should not be allowed to talk to players before games.
We definitely agree that the Dodgers no longer have the “guey”.
- “10milliondollarzen” wonders:
All of Torre’s championships with the Yankees came with Don Zimmer as his bench coach….what’s the status with him
Everyone knows he’s hiding in a bunker in Idaho planning his revenge against Pedro Martinez.
- And “whoa” doesn’t fuck with foreplay:
Torre will be fired before the end of his contract.
Yankee fans are so bitter.
