It wasn’t the merriest of holidays for Catalan striker Ronaldinho. After losing to Real Madrid over the weekend, in the biggest rivalry clash in the world, Barcelona fans decided to point their Catalan fingers straight into the Brazilian’s grill–and it wasn’t out of praise. Ronaldinho didn’t do anything to improve his declining popularity during “El Clasico.” He flopped around during the match like a beached whale and at some points he appeared to be playing for the other team. We didn’t even know European soccer had a stats section for turnovers, but newspapers across the globe noted that Ronaldinho committed 18 of them.

When the match finally ended, Ronaldinho was riddled with jeers and whistles, signaling that he had reached the summit with the club. To add more insult, fans waited like stalkers for him at Barcelona’s airport to send him greetings and well-wishes for the holidays. FilBalad newspaper noted:

FC Barcelona fans humiliated Ronaldinho at the Airport and asked him to not come back again to the city just as he was traveling to Brazil to get his New Year vacation.

Yankee fans, you know what you need to do if you want A-Rod out next year.
