Back in the day, you know 1990’s and shiz, boxers wouldn’t consider retirement until their eyes were permanently swollen and their appearance locked on something between Quasimodo and HBO boxing announcer Harold Lederman. Isn’t that guy always drunk too? So Ricky Hatton is a bit ticked that reports have surfaced he’s musing on the idea of retiring after his heavily anticipated bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. this weekend. Because he’s totally got a few more years of face reconfiguration.
“I’d be a fool to contemplate retiring after this one, you don’t know how you will feel. There are a lot of big fights out there. My blinkers are on, I have my eyes on the prize and there is no one else on my mind expect Floyd Mayweather. I am 200% certain I am going to win, I will put every penny I have in the bank on me winning this fight, I really do think he will have to kill me to make me leave him alone for a split second.
Our dad always hated betting on the horses with the blinkers. That’s why we’re around 130% short of Hatton’s confidence that he’ll win. But he continued to hype up his own, um, hype.
“I will show controlled aggression and my heart is just going to destroy him.”
That’s fabulous if you’re trying to corral a rattlesnake, but how do you control a guy that wants to make you his biatch? We’re just saying it’s a bit different.
