The latest trend among depleting European soccer players has been speculating upon a move to the MLS. We’re never the first choice. It’s like being the last one on the prom queen’s dating roster, but at least we’re on the list, right? So when [very weak] rumors began circulating, oh like, five minutes ago that Chelsea FC international Andre Shevchenko was toying with the idea of hitting up North America, we…grew extremely irritated because everyone’s just putting the stinkin’ tip in!
Andriy Shevchenko has set his heart on following David Beckham to the US - if he is forced to leave Chelsea.
Shevchenko, 31, is desperate to stay at Chelsea but fears he could be sold as he struggles to win a first team place at Stamford Bridge.
And the Ukrainian superstar, who is on £130,000-a-week, would fancy a move to a Major League Soccer club as his final career step.
The rumors can’t be validated in any way, shape or form, but let’s run with it, shall we? The front-runners in the battle to acquire the Ukrainian futbolero are Red Bulls of New York and New England. East Coast jealous of the big bad Beckham West Coast media-hype? Mm, hm. Just keep Sheva away from Freddy Adu, or else he’ll change his mind.
