Floyd Mayweather Jr. Doesn’t Understand The Difference Between “Boxer” And “Fighter.”

We decided to make a career change from cow butcher to blogger a few years ago because waking up after a thorough shower with cow gut in our hair didn’t feel good in the morning. Sore fingers are more tolerable. Floyd Mayweather Jr. may be done with boxing, but the best pound-for-pound fighter in the world is looking towards mixed martial arts as his next frontier. Cue the body bag.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. met with Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban this week to discuss competing in mixed martial arts.
“It would be huge,” Cuban said. “He’s an icon in boxing. He’s conquered that world. He is the champ and he wants to be the biggest grossing all-time champ as well. … Having him work with MMA and HDNet Fights would be huge. It would take it to a whole other level.”
We’d buy into it if the audience could choose the fighter. Our recommendations:
- Tito Ortiz: The expression “I’ll rip your head off and spit down your neck” would be realized.
- Royce Gracie pre-1999: Floyd Mayweather jabs and his arm is turned into a pretzel. Sweet!
- Pacman Jones: Wrestling is mixed martial arts right?
Of course, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is involved, so this crazy ass idea might actually become reality. 2008 is going to be bloody, but awesome.
