Diego Maradona wants to make it clear to the entire world that he’s not going away any time soon; or ever. He recently divulged his disgust with Kaká’s triumph over Lionel Messi as the new Footballer of the Year. Granted that all Argentines will despise Brazilians until kingdom come, his comments were still without merit considering, well, that he’s a crack head. Maradona specified Lionel Messi as his favorite (duh.), but also mentioned Ronaldinho and Manchester United blockhead Wayne Rooney as worthy of the prize.

“It was a tough decision but there is not much separating Kaká from those players. Some are even better.”
“I don’t know too well how the election is done but I think that Rooney is better than Kaká.
“Milan is a team that depends all the time on Kaká but that doesn’t make him the best player in the world.”

Brittle Rooney, who sees more red cards than a blackjack dealer in Vegas, is better than Kaká? It helps if you could actually be on the pitch to show off why you’re considered better. Or we could just assume that Maradona’s lost it. The latter is sufficient.
