We’re not 100% certain the New York Mets will keep Jose Reyes this season, but the star shortstop has signed on to be the poster-boy of MLB’s 2K8 video game next year. No word yet on if the game will be in Es-pagn-ol.
Ben Brinkman, Executive Producer, Major League Baseball 2K8 had this to say about the signing “This year we have signed one of the most exciting players in all of Major League Baseball as our official cover athlete, Jose Reyes is a multi-talented player–a great baserunner, fielder and hitter, making him the perfect spokesperson for Major League Baseball 2K8.”
They must of figured Miguel Cabrera was just too pudgy for their cover. No matter. Jose Reyes was psyched about the news.
“This is the first time I have ever been on the cover of a video game and it is very exciting to be a part of the best video game out there,” quipped Jose Reyes.
Is this a testament to the rise of his fame? Or is he a stones throw away from a knee-injury? Signing on to an endorsement like this is analogous to giving a thumbs up to a Dodgers contract. Yeah, we’re ruthless today. Sue us, Randy Newman.
