Fabio Capello was named England’s savior yesterday and all seemed pleasant–at least for a moment–in rain country. The Italian coach is the fourth installment in a little over six years and already he’s trying to work some PR magic. England’s The Sun published a ridiculously titled article today citing that the new England coach is already looking toward Becks as a possible roster selection for February.

“Beckham was a great player at Madrid and a great asset.
We had a contrasting relationship at Real but he showed he is a great man and a great player. When Beckham sets a target he usually reaches it.
Beckham is important for England and he is among those players I hold in great consideration.”

Same ol’ BS from a different coach isn’t uncustomary. The Los Angeles Dodgers have been stuck in that rut with their coaches for twenty years now. What England needs is a compulsive belligerent Joey Barton to snarl on the pitch regurlarly and beat up opponents whenever he can. Italians won the World Cup with match-fixing so why can’t the English try out brute (and bloody) force?
