The Alex Rodriguez Performance Report That Made Steinbrenner Swoon

When Alex Rodriguez was a wee young lad of 24, his agent at the time, one Scott Bor-ass, was trying to obtain a record breaking contract that would make Rodriguez the highest-paid player in baseball history. It worked. What did it? Fellow bloggers at You Been Blinded recently uncovered a compilation of selling points Boras put together in order to shop his biggest client. Included in the modestly titled “Historical Performances Report” are comparisons between A-Rod and Hall of Fame shortstops; A-Rod’s homerun projections until the age of 40; and a bunch of random quotes from newspaper columnists drooling over Rodriguez like Variety magazine mesmerized by a Sylvester Stallone flick.
Oddly enough, there are some pages missing that we couldn’t retrieve. We investigated thoroughly and found that there is no comparison or mention of A-Rod’s championship contributions. Truly, truly odd.
Below are some clips from the report.
