The New York Knicks Don’t Appreciate Your Honesty

What would you do if you were fed-up Knicks fan Jason Silverstein and had great seats right behind head coach Isiah Thomas, the man you believe is screwing up your team? You’d want to let him know how you feel, right? Well, using the ol’ “signs and banners policy,” stating that you can’t have any signs that make people all unhappy, stadium security booted Silverstein out of Monday night’s game because he wrote “Fire Isiah” on the back of his meal tray. Give the guy a break. At least he didn’t throw his courtside sushi at Thomas.
Sitting in the primo seats one row behind Thomas and his players, the 23-year-old Silverstein scribbled “FIRE ISIAH” on a meal tray along with an arrow pointing to the Knicks coach in the final minutes of the 119-92 Indiana rout.
No sooner had Silverstein held the sign up than it was confiscated. Even worse, Silverstein said he was booted from the Garden with no explanation.
And now there’s a rally going on right now outside of MSG to ask for the ouster of Thomas. We would go, but we’re afraid they might do the opposite and lock us into the Garden, forcing us to watch the Knicks practice—Geneva Conventions be damned!
