We’ve already seen the horrors of what athletes who think they can rap can bring about. Now, David Beckham and Snoop Dogg have decided they want to put out a track where Becks lends his shrill voice to the background. As odd collaborations go, it’s not as strange as Bing Crosby and David Bowie doing “Little Drummer Boy,” but it’s much weirder than Coolio and Willie Nelson remaking “The Gambler.”

David Beckham is turning rapper - and recording a track with hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg. Snoop has asked pal Becks, 32, to work on the backing vocals for his next single. And the squeaky-voiced footballer - a monster rap fan - is desperate to do it. A source revealed: “Snoop thought it’d be a laugh and David is going to give it a real go.

“They are huge names so the song’s bound to be a hit - even if it’s no good.” The unlikely friends also have plans to team up on a film and fashion label - and design a range of SLIPPERS.

Man, it’s like the bad music’s not enough (which we believe it is), they’re also combining forces to bring you a line of lounge footwear? Well, if they’re not made out of hemp and have little soccer balls on the treading, they’re not getting our money.
