Peeps at The Offside led us to a story about David Beckham’s super polluting spree over 2007. Turns out environmentalists, not to be confused with window washers on the street begging for change, are ticked that “Baby Becks” is so careless when it comes to releasing gas. He’s been outed as the number one individual on earth with the biggest carbon footprint. How big? Whoa there, Charlie, we’re about to tell ya:
LA Galaxy star Becks, 32, not only owns a fleet of 15 gas-guzzling supercars, he has clocked up more than 250,000 miles in the air in the last year – more than the distance to the far side of the Moon.
His hectic travel schedule has notched up a staggering 163 tons of CO2, compared with the 9.4 tons of the average Brit.
It is also far higher than the tally for world leaders.
Now that’s just straight pimp-tastic. It’s not his fault the Los Angeles Galaxy (as well as endorsers) are delusional fools that shelled out $250 million for him to spend on tickets to fly to his cracked out, no talent, oddly augmented wife’s reunion shows. And ex-England dumbass coach Steve McClaren was in love with him (in the end) and now Fabio Capello loves him, too. So of course he’s going to have to fly all of those miles. In his defense, and this will only happen once, Beckham can’t help but be the biggest polluter in the world just like Barry Bonds will always be the biggest cheater in the world. The stars were simply aligned that way.
