Since Oscar De La Hoya is having a hard time convincing people his 38-5 record is worthy of a high profile fight, he’s gone to the drawing board to sketch up a savvy new plan to entice big money to filter into at least one proposition: a Floyd Mayweather Jr. rematch. Oh wait. That’s not the news. The news is that Oscar is looking into hiring Floyd Mayweather Sr. to train him. A quick recap: Floyd Mayweather Jr. be havin’ a roe with papa bear. Cha-ching. Boxing Scene reports:

According to Floyd Mayweather Sr., he was recently phoned by a member of Oscar De La Hoya’s team, asking whether or not he was interested in training De La Hoya for a future fight. Floyd Sr. told BoxingScene.com that he was never informed of De La Hoya’s potential opponent, but if it’s going to be a rematch with his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr., the elder Mayweather is ready, willing and able to accept the potential training assignment.

Floyd Mayweather Sr. may look exactly like the “Predator” creature, and he also exudes that blood-lusting fire, too. If De La Hoya’s camp at Golden Boy Productions can manifest some mind-numbing, brainswashing scheme to get us all to watch, then this could mean a mighty fine pay day for all parties involved. Hey, maybe Mayweather will get his wanna-be rapper/MMA fighter boxing son back.
