News out of the boxing bin that Floyd Mayweather Sr. has jumped on the Golden train and is intending to take the job as boxing trainer for Oscar De La Hoya’s bout against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Do you know how amazing it’s going to be to see Floyd Mayweather Sr. sputtering all kinds of nonsense into HBO microphones. Hot damn we’re excited.
“I didn’t work their first fight, but I’m going to work it this time.”
“Oscar said that he wants me to be his trainer until the end of his career, so that obviously includes whatever he has planned for September,” said Mayweather, who claims De La Hoya’s trainer for the first Mayweather fight, Freddie Roach, did a sub-par job of preparing his fighter.
“There was a steep decline with Freddy ‘The Joke Coach’ Roach in Oscar’s corner.”
Who knew the Predator was funny? We didn’t. But we know he’s good at training boxers. Will he lead De La Hoya to a victory against Floyd Mayweather Jr.? Probably not. But at least he’ll get paid enough to get rid of that ridiculous looking hairstyle he totes. Jesus.
