Nery Castillo Should Have Paid An Extra Twenty Quid To Get His Paperwork Done

We’ve been waiting very, very patiently for Mexican striker Nery Castillo’s debut in the EPL. Actually we haven’t been that patient. Did coach Sven forget to include his name on the roster list? Maybe he spelled his name wrong. Nery doesn’t speak great English so maybe he thinks he’s signed up for Manchester United. The guy pays his way into a Premiership team that obviously wants him, and is a competitor this year (yeah, go figure), yet he’s waiting on the sidelines without a uniform, or a space on the Manchester club scene guest lists. Get this guy a stripper kit already! So, what’s the hold up?

Meanwhile Mexico striker Nery Castillo is not eligible for tonight’s Premier League clash at Newcastle because the League’s offices were not open to register him yesterday. The rule is that a player’s name must be with the authorities 24 hours before he can be selected.

Castillo has arrived at City on a £3million, 12-month loan deal from Ukraine side Shakhtar Donetsk, but he will be available to play for City in Saturday’s FA Cup third round tie at West Ham.

Since he paid about a third of that amount, would he have been able to bypass this nonsense for another hundred grand, or so? If he doesn’t play on Saturday, something is going to feel pain, and it’s probably going to be our livers from all the celebratory Tecate we purchased for last week’s game; when we though he was going to play.
