Looks like Oscar De La Hoya’s drag photos from last year weren’t his gift to adoring fans after all. Oscar has been milking us for all our stripper money over the past decade by allowing HBO to leech his fights for magnificent gains. Well enough of that–for now. The East Los Angeles native has confirmed that a warm-up bout against some no-name on May 3rd will be free for all to see since we all made him the richest boxer in history. In addition, he’ll make tickets to the event cheap enough for the whole family, including your drunk uncle.

“Oscar wants to do it on free TV, not pay-per-view. He wants to give something back to the fans who have supported him for all of these years.
“He wants to make tickets affordable wherever the fight takes place. We want to have $10 and $20 tickets. If it’s in Los Angeles, it will be like a homecoming. I think that’s what we would call the fight, ‘The Homecoming.’”

Possible locations in Los Angeles are named as The Home Depot Center, but what the hell happened to Dodger Stadium? The schedule of fights for Oscar this year includes his aforementioned bout, September’s Floyd Mayweather Jr. rematch and then a fight in December “that will be a celebration of Oscar’s career.” As long as there’s mariachi and women, then we’re tuning in.
