Randy Moss Says He’s In The Middle Of A Conveniently Timed Extortion Scheme

On the verge of playing the game that could put Randy Moss in the Super Bowl (ok, who are we kidding, he’s going to the Super Bowl), the All-Pro receiver was hit with a restraining order today. It turns out a “temporary injunction for protection against dating violence” (huh?) was filed against Moss, but he says he never hit any woman, and the involved parties are just trying to juice him for some money. Damn amateur extortionists—you run your scheme before the Super Bowl, not the AFC championship game. The prospect of sweating it out for two weeks instead of one probably ups the scare value $100,000.
“All I know is that it’s a friend of mine, a young lady, it was an accident where she hurt herself, to where they called me, called my attorneys, trying to get X amount of dollars out of me, and if ‘we don’t get X amount of dollars’ they were going to go to the press before this game.”
This battery they’re talking about, I guess from a legal standpoint, there has to be something said. Like I said, I don’t really know all the facts. I don’t know what’s going on as far as everything that has been alleged.
Randy, “from a legal standpoint,” you ain’t gotta say shit. And if anything comes out of your mouth as dodgy as what’s said the previous paragraph, then that’s a free piece of legal advice you should take.
