Wanderlei Silva Kind Of Got His Ass Beat This Weekend

We know we’re reporting a little late on this, but some crazy virus infiltrated our intestines over the weekend and sitting at our desks for an extended period of time was as impossible as Ronaldo losing weight. Wanderlei Silva and Chuck Liddell went the full three rounds at UFC 79, which took place on Saturday the 29th. The clash has been hailed as a successful slugfest that provided viewers with a decent ass-kicking show.

We were rooting for Silva the whole time because we were certain he’d try to tear Liddell’s ear off and claim it as a victory prize, but none of that happened. Liddell was the aggressor the entire time. Even when he was dropped in the second (which looked more like an unfortunate slip), Liddell came out with a vengeance in the third and Silva turned into a giant, Neanderthal-like punching bag. In the end, Liddell redeemed himself and it doesn’t really look that great for Silva. According to MMAMania, however, Silva will be sobbing with $150,000 more in his bank account.
