We’re so thankful it’s Friday because it means we’ve completed another week without destroying our computer. Frankly, we only care about weekends because we can watch soccer games all day long. Leisure and strolls in the park are for sales associates and kids. Not for us sports bloggers. This weekend’s most anticipated game is the FA Cup clash that is Arsenal and Manchester United. Arsense Wenger and Sir Alex Ferguson are volatile enough to entertain us on the sidelines, but we’re sure the Red Devils V the Gunners will be quite a treat. It’s the first and second place team going head-to-head; it’s the two most accomplished teams in the FA Cup; it’s Cristiano Ronaldo’s grease-hair and Cesc Fabregas natural wave.
Arsenal are on a high streak after extending their Premiership lead to five points this week, but Arsene disclosed that his team’s as hurt as Ronaldo’s ailing knee. (Eeee).
“It is a priority (this game) because it is the next game and we want to keep our good run going and we want to try to win the trophy,” Wenger told reporters. “I am down to the bare bones of just 14 players so everybody travels.
“It will be a late decision tomorrow morning to see who I may give a breather to. So, tonight I will check the medical people.”
We advise to lock goalkeeper Jans Lehmann in a cage tonight, poke him with a stick repeatedly and then release him before kick-off. But right before kickoff for maximum results. That will improve stealth and the ferocity factor a goalkeeper needs.
As for Manchester United’s hopes, they are looking really good since everyone is virtually healthy. Yet, Gary Neville supplied a word of caution for Arsenal:
Neville, 32, said: “In terms of entertainment, performance and production, the player that we’re watching now is every bit as good as anything I’ve seen. [Cristiano is] playing on another planet at the moment.”
Indeed. We’re confident said planet is Venus, you know, for obvious reasons.
Prediction: Sorry Arsenal fans, we’re going with a Red Devil thrashing, 2-0.
