China’s seen rapid change within the last two years as they have prepared to welcome more than a few million Olympic enthusiasts to their country in August for the Beijing Olympics. The latest puzzle was solved when Chinese organizers were keen on discovering how to keep the Olympic torch from extinguishing amidst the fierce winds and low oxygen found atop Mt. Everest when it passes through the Nepalese mountain before the games. What will they think of next?

The torch relay, ahead of the Games which start in Beijing on August 8, will include a climb to the top of the world’s highest mountain, which spans Nepal and the Chinese region of Tibet.
China has upgraded path and road surfaces to make it easier on the bearers of the Olympic flame.
Beijing scientists said they had finished tests to ensure the torch can stay alight in the tough, oxygen-sparse conditions that leave even experienced climbers struggling.

It’s truly a marvelous feat for torch bearing considering fire needs oxygen to flourish. Now, if the Chinese could only solve that “you can only squat-shit in our country” thing, then we’d probably place China in the top ten places to have our honeymoon.
