We have every right to unrelentingly talk about baseball now that football is officially over. We have nothing against football, but we played baseball for 15 years and, well, there’s nothing like it. Who else loves them some baseball? Puerrrrto Riiiiico! Their “Museo Del Deporte” recently honored two of Puerto Rico’s finest ballplayers: Mike Lowell of the Boston Red Sox and his father, Carlos Lowell, who pitched for the Puerto Rican national team from 1962-1974. Honestly, we had no idea Mike Lowell was actually Puerto Rican, but here’s the Wikipedia scoop on why we dismissed him as another Irishman.
Mike was raised in Miami, Florida. He is the son of Carlos Lowell, a Cuban exile of Irish and German descent that established in Puerto Rico.
We’re still not jumping on any Bostonian bandwagon, but now we’ll look into his Spanish interviews. Go get em’ Ines!
