Richard Jefferson Involved In Criminal Investigation

TMZ is reporting that New Jersey Net forward Richard Jefferson was involved in an altercation at a Minnesota hotel. An incident report cites that Jefferson was involved in a verbal dispute with a guy named Lyle Fox until the fracas escalated and Jefferson began to choke Fox.

According to the report, the New Jersey Nets star left the club, and then encountered the witness, who asked Jefferson to remain until the disagreement was sorted out. The witness says Jefferson responded, “Say another word, I will kick your ass.”
Minneapolis PD tells us Jefferson is under investigation for “assault for significant bodily harm.” No charges have yet been filed.

It’s not surprising, really. The Nets’ are seven games under .500 and Jason Kidd wants to jump ship. It’s a stressful time for any Nets’ player. Word? Word. The incident report down below.
