Thai Soccer Team Muay Thai’s The Crap Out Of A Referee

As sports fans, we wield the sword of overseer. Every weekend, we trash talk bad calls and belittle referees from the privacy of our homes. Most referees have it coming to them, too. But complaining and badgering a ref with profanities and insults is one thing. Actually pummeling the ref is ludicrous. Unfortunately for a soccer club in Thailand, they forgot to adhere to the cardinal fucking rule of sports: leave aggression on the pitch. The entire Kuiburi FC squad decided that they were going to take matters into their own hands when three of their players were sent off (red cards) in a 4-1 defeat to Kasem Bundit.

A Thai soccer referee was beaten up by an entire team… Referee Prakong Sukguamala needed 50 stitches and also broke a finger after being attacked by the Kuiburi FC squad, furious at being shown three red cards during a 4-1 loss to Kasem Bundit on Thursday, the Thai-language Thai Rath newspaper said.
The angry players charged into Prakong’s dressing room at the stadium in Ayutthaya, north of Bangkok, and started to kick and punch him. They dispersed after police fired gunshots into the air.

Obviously these soccer players weren’t Muay Thai trainees because if they were, that game could have been the ref’s last. Additionally, the poor shmo ran from aggressors, but found a full-length mirror in his path. Dumb-effin’-luck.

The players then chased Prakong into the stadium’s office, where the hapless official ran into a mirror, leaving him with cuts all over his body.

We’re not experts on the ramifications of Karma, but our guess: this ref might have been at a Thai brothel recently. And we know how unorthodox those can be. Well, not personally.
