In a case of timing that makes them look as bad (or worse) than their coach Bill Belichick’s surreptitious departure, New England Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Randy Moss have both decided to skip next week’s Pro Bowl. Of course the announcement comes a day after their team’s loss to the Giants in the Super Bowl, making it seem that their egos might have been the biggest thing hurt on Sunday, unless Moss hurt himself making the swim motion on that second-to-last touchdown.

Taking over for them are Derek Anderson of the Cleveland Browns and Chad Johnson of the Cincinnati Bengals. We know they’re good, but it’s kind of like watching The Dukes Of Hazzard after they replaced Bo and Luke. The show, like the Pro Bowl, is crappy enough by itself (who really wants to give 100% and get hurt after the season’s over?), but has its moments. Replace them with the guys who weren’t good enough the first time makes it even more apparent the last game of the season truly is the Super Bowl.
