The injury has been diagnosed as a severed tendon in his left knee, which basically translates into finito to his career. Ronaldo arrived in Paris today where he is to have surgery, but it’s unlikely he’ll return to the pitch anytime soon. It’s unfortunate because we were just getting accustomed to his afro. Now, we have to deal with Paolo Maldini’s glistening locks. Aside, AC Milan Silvio Berlusconi is smoking zee crack:

“He fears for his career,” Milan president Silvio Berlusconi told Italian state RAI TV. “I called him last evening and told him to believe in himself. He has enormous physical potential. This morning, he was going to France for an operation.
“As a 31-year-old, he’s very young. He has an extraordinary physique, and I think within a few months he could return to being the champion that we all know him as.”

Don’t make it harder for the guy to throw in the metaphorical, bloody towel. He’s won it all. He’s conquered all. Let him go in peace. Not, like, let him die, or anything. But you know.
