Sports outlets like ESPN like to indulge in the aesthetics of perfection by constantly badgering us with “Classic Moments” in sports: Joe Louis knocking out Max Schmeling in the first round; Barbaro running the perfect race; or Nolan Ryan throwing his seventh no-hitter of his career. You know that feeling you have in your throat right now? It’s nostalgia weakening your glands, man. So where will the Brazilian U2 Women’s soccer club stand after they dominated an entire continent of rivals? On the back pages of an English language Chinese newspaper, of course.
Brazil’s under-20 women’s soccer team crushed Argentina 3-0 on Sunday to win its third consecutive South American title.
Brazil, which scored 30 goals and did not concede one during the tournament, took the title thanks to two goals from Daiane and one from Karen, by a penalty.
