We all know China has the world’s most burgeoning economy because we owe them a few trillion dollars. But does the government really think they can get rid of over 1,000 Olympic Village apartments in Beijing after the games for an average of $750,000? It’s going to be a little hard when they’re being described like something out of 1984.

The apartments themselves are modestly decorated in marble and wood with balconies overlooking walkways and courtyards. A unit in Building 10, Column 2 was opened for viewing and described as “typical.”

The village also will contain a restaurant that can feed 5,000-6,000, a library, a clinic, swimming pools, tennis and basketball courts, jogging tracks, shopping areas and coffee shops. The Village also will have its own fire station.

The three-bedroom units, meant to accommodate six, seemed small but officials said they measured 1,830 square feet. The four-bedroom units are 2,600 square feet. All have toilet and bath facilities that can be used by Paralympic athletes.

Which will be quickly remodeled afterwards because as we all know, the Chinese government sends all their cripples to Tibet.
