Juan Pierre Ready To Play Against Red Sox, Thinks About Wearing Cup

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Boston Red Sox are set for an exhibition showdown (how can they fit in exhibition games when the season started in Japan?) in the famed Los Angeles Coliseum this weekend and there are a few interesting facts concerning the stadiums setup. Since the Trojans went all crazy with their unbelievably talented teams, the Coliseum was revamped with more seats in the last few years, leading to ridiculously close left field fence. How close? Try 201 feet.
The foul pole stands only 201 feet down the left-field line. A 60-foot-high net snickers beside it, ready to entice hitters and tickle the necks of two laughably cramped left fielders.
One of those “laughably cramped” players is the Dodgers Juan Pierre, who’s shy demeanor evaporated during a locker room interview when he revealed that he’s got nothing protecting his family jewels.
Juan Pierre thought someone was. Pierre, the Dodgers’ probable left fielder (rather, deep shortstop), said he did not believe the dimensions when he was told of them a few weeks ago. He gradually feared for his safety.
“I’ll be like 180 feet from the hitters, and those Boston guys hit the ball pretty hard,” Pierre said. “I might have to wear a cup.”
If you want to see your offspring con a team into overpaying them (as well), then you best be slapping on some crotch pad. Because getting nailed in the balls is no fun, unless it’s in an advert.
