We’ve never been fans of ol’ Nick Cage. OK, Face/Off was great, but that National Treasure nonsense (and then a sequel?) was unwarranted. Whatever the case, Real Madrid were bamboozled into believing that the guy they were hosting with an all-access pass of the Santiago Bernabeu was Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage. It turns out the real Nick Cage was probably off making bad movies somewhere. The man posing with Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon is Italian impersonator Paolo Calabresi; a man who looks absolutely nothin like Nicolas Cage.
The lookalike, Italian television presenter Paolo Calabresi, watched Wednesday’s game from the directors’ viewing area at the Bernabeu and was taken into the team dressing room afterwards, Spanish sports daily Marca reported on Saturday.
He was even photographed being presented with a personalised Real shirt by club president Ramon Calderon.
Calabresi organised the stunt by using the name of an agency in the United States that had recently arranged a similar meeting at the Bernabeu for another actor, Sylvester Stallone.
Yet, what do you expect from an owner who promised to sign Kaka and Cesc Fabregas by 200? Not a whole lot, frankly.
