This young, busy-headed kid on the left is Philippe Coutinho, a 15-year-old player in Brazilian team Vasco da Gama’s system. But according to the team, Real Madrid is trying to change that, offering the young ‘un and his pop a place in the Spanish capital if they just head on over. Well, Vasco didn’t like that because it’s against the rules to court anyone under 18, so they’re reporting them to FIFA and the Brazilian Football Confederation. We can’t wait for the FIFA-club mixer where reps for Real corner the Vasco reps, yelling “Narc!” and giving them an atomic wedgie that Vasco da Gama himself would feel.
“Real Madrid went to the player’s family and made very tempting but illegal offers,” Vasco president Eurico Miranda told reporters. Miranda said Real had offered a job to the player’s father and the chance to live abroad.
“They try to get around the law by taking those responsible for the player to live and work abroad. They offer a job to the father and take the player. But they’re not doing that here at Vasco,” he said.
Of course not, they’re too busy making sure their players have nice, strong hair.
