Soccer violence is pissing us off now. It’s bad enough we have opportunistic soccerphobic haters berating the game every chance they get, but now we’re not so sure it’s unwarranted. Argentine Clausura was marred by more violence this weekend when River Plate fans, waiting for a game against Arsenal de Sarandi to start, began beating each other up.

Just before kick-off in the match between Arsenal de Sarandi and River Plate, film footage shows dozens of supporters fighting, some using ripped out plastic seats and sticks as weapons.
Alberto Crescenti, a city paramedics’ director reported three men hospitalized; one with a severe head injury and two others with less extreme injuries.

It’s uncertain why it started, but we’re not one to ask why a raging bull charges the stands; or why president of a major sporting circuit would videotape themselves having sex with Nazi hookers. We just gawk and admire how all of these goons look like chimps. No offense to chimps.
