There’s A Champions League Psychic On The Loose

The UEFA Champions League quaterfinals draw was held this morning in Europe and there’s already a fixation amongst aficionados that the draw might have been rigged. We find that a doubtful possibility because there’s only one Italian squad participating in the remainder of the tournament. Persistent as they are, news outlets are beginning to report that a Liverpool FC commenter left an ominous comment predicting today’s draw results. Booga booga booga booga.
ICLiverpool’s Liverpool FC forum was bombarded by thousands of football fans when, at 10.28am, more than 90 minutes before the draw, a user, claimed that he knew that Liverpool and Arsenal, Manchester United and Roma, Chelsea and Fenerbahce, and Barcelona and Schalke would be pitted together.
The post also said that bookmakers had stopped taking bets, valued at 119/1 on this scenario ringing true.
Officials are obviously discrediting the report, but if bookies start reporting giant earnings from such a bet, we’d guess that a redraw will happen immediately. As long as they don’t screw up an Arsenal/Manchester United finals possibility in Moscow, let them raging compulsive gamblers and cheater have their way.
