Derek Moore Turns The Big 4-0 And Plays One Mo’…Game

Former Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions running back Derek Moore is a 40 year old with a mission. Yes, repelling the effects of osteoporosis is a full-time job, but that’s not what we’re talking about. TV Land debuted their new show “The Big 4-0″ last night and Moore, a Georgia Tech developmental coach and chaplain, had a chance to relive his pro days, with a score of his old NFL buddies accompanying him, against some top of the line collegiate athletes. And by top of the line we mean young and fast.

“It’s an incredible achievement,” he said in an interview, meaning his experience, on screen and off. “Our culture and society has changed greatly over the years, so the potential of so many things that can happen” has changed greatly. He added, “Now at 40, you can meet that person you dream about, you can start a family, you can go back to college.”
“I’ve done all those things,” Mr. Moore said, “so I can only imagine the potential I have for the next 40 years.”

We aspire to achieve that sort of buoyancy at his age. And you know who’d be perfect for this show in season two? Brett Favre. He turns the big 4-0 next year and it would be a pristine scene to see a jovial Brett reliving his glory days, one more time, for all TV Landers. Everyone would get to see him play one last time and hey, maybe his last play would be something either than an interception.
