Stephane Ortelli emerged from this horrendous crash with only a broken ankle and, we assume, overwhelming dizziness. It looks much worse than it really is because if you think about, these cars are supposed to fly through the air as a safety mechanism. What’s that? It’s not true? Really? They aren’t supposed to flail through the air violently, while shedding excess pieces of fiber glass and rubber leaving only the driver’s capsule intact? Well hand us a dress and call us Suzy. We thought these race cars were made for this.
