Everyone thought David Beckham’s $250 million over six years would place him at the pinnacle of the most lavishly paid ball kickers in the world list. Apparently, that’s not the case. Tops bragging rights go to none other than AC Milan Brazilian Jesus lover Kaká. He rakes in about $226,000 a month (or $14.9 million a year), leaving Cristiano Ronaldo with something to envy in the world. A list of the top 50 earners is making it’s way around the internets, highlighting players like Barcelona FC’s Ronaldinho, Chelsea FC’s John Terry, Liverpool FC’s Fernando Torres and…Tottenham’s Darren Bent? He makes $189,338 a week? How the hell did that happen? The top ten after the jump.

  • 1. Kaká (AC Milan): $14.9 million per year
  • 2. Ronaldinho (FC Barcelona): $14.1 million
  • 3. Frank Lampard (Chelsea): $13.5 million
  • 4. John Terry (Chelsea): $13.5 million
  • 5. Fernando Torres (Liverpool): $13.1 million
  • 6. Andriy Shevchenko (Chelsea): $12.9 million
  • 7. Michael Ballack (Chelsea): $12.9 million
  • 8. Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United): $12.7 million
  • 9. Thierry Henry (FC Barcelona): $12.7 million
  • 10. Steven Gerrard (Liverpool): $12.7 million

As you can see, David Beckham is no where near the top ten. He plateaus at 44th, which sounds grossly unjust, nonetheless. Are we being too harsh?
