Did you think that musty smell of slightly burnt java was designated for unhygienic hipsters and revolutionaries? Think again. Cologne-contriver Thierry Mugler released a java inspired scent called Angel Men ($65) for men who aren’t into sweet scents. [Ed note: Or apple-tinis].
Thierry Mugler will release a limited edition of AngelMEN sub-titled Pure Coffee in mid-April of 2008. The original AngelMEN or A* Men was introduced in 1996 followed by B* Men in 2004.
This new version takes as a point of departure a coffee note that was already present in A*Men, but which thanks to “new CO2 technology allowed the company to extract a natural note directly from Columbian coffee beans,”…..
This sounds like a perfect item for someone like AC Milan’s Pato–a kid who’s surrounded by flashy, A-list fashionistas and teammates who are notable trend setters. Pato, you could totally beat Paolo Maldini’s aged trends by introducing this new, hip scent. And if it doesn’t work out, the trend could still pass somewhere in Brazil. As for us, we’re content with spilling coffee on ourselves and rubbing our Cuban sandwich greased hands on our sleeves. Mmm. It takes some getting used to, but we dig it.
